God has blessed the work we have been doing for the last 10 years at Tanglaw Pag-asa (Ray of Hope) facility which is the juvenile correctional facility of the province of Bulacan. Many have already come and gone from this place but we are very confident that seeds of the Gospel have already been planted deep in the hearts of past and present residents of the facility. This is one of the reasons why it is our joy at Living Waters Asia to do things for these young people that will make them see further the goodness of the Lord.
Yesterday, December 5, we held our yearly Christmas program there. Just like any other Christmas parties out there, there were games, singing, and of course, food for everyone. We saw how these things brought smiles in the faces of the residents of Tanglaw Pag-asa. Laughters filled the hall as they engaged each other in fun competitions. The singing time of traditional Christmas carols brought memories for them of times they were singing these songs outside of this correctional facility with friends and loved ones. It was really a great time for everyone!
But what really made the event special was the Christmas message delivered by the LWA director. He expounded on the text of Galatians 4:3-6. Dennis explained how Christ's coming down to earth made it possible for sinners to move from being slaves of the Law to people of grace. It was explained that Christ made Himself subjected to the Law but never offended it even once. But despite that, the death sentence for sinners was placed on Him through His death at the cross, and it was through it that people can be children of God.
During the Christmas program, one of the residents approached Dennis and thanked him for continously holding Bible study sessions there for the last 10 years. Dennis, in turn, assured him that it was a joy spending time with them there sharing God's Word and that everything is for God's glory.
Please continue praying for the residents of Tanglaw Pag-asa.
