For the last 9 years, Living Waters Asia has been bringing Christmas cheers to the residents of the provincial juvenile jail of Bulacan, Tanglaw ng Pag-asa (Ray of Hope). Every Monday, Dennis Mark Aglosolos, LWA Director, comes here to conduct regular Bible study sessions. A lot of the residents have voiced how the weekly Bible study session has helped them know God and His Word more which is a big blessing to them. We want to be an even bigger blessing to them, that's why we hold a yearly Christmas program for them.
The Christmas program for this year happened December 8. Team members from LWA led in the singing of traditional Filipino Christmas carols and prepared games that brought a lot of laughter to everyone. The residents, in-turn, prepared special numbers to entertain our team, showcasing their different talents that really blew our minds. We also prepared food for them to enjoy with each other.
But the highlight of the event was the message. Dennis talked about how God was revealed through Jesus, the Creator of everything and everyone. He explained that despite us being created by Him, the Bible tells us that when He came here, mankind did not recognize Him and so, received Him not. Dennis emphasized that man, in our time, still rejects Him by his continuous love for sin that will someday bring eternal suffering for him. It was in that point that the hope of the Gospel was declared. Jesus was bannered as the only source of salvation which anyone can receive through repentance and faith on Him.
We had a great time with the residents of the facility. We know that God's work there is producing eternal results. One day, we will see those results. Maybe not here on earth but for sure, Heaven will reveal those to us someday.
Campuses are a good place to do evangelism. Everywhere, you find students who you can share the Gospel to. It is also where a lot of young people are being molded to embrace beliefs that are contrary to what the Bible teaches. This is the reason why we, Christians, must often make campuses our fishing spots for the Gospel.
That's exactly what Living Waters Asia recently did. Last Nov. 26, we went to the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City campus to share the Gospel to the U.P. Maroons. We were able to distribute tracts to students, a lot so welcoming of us, while there were also a few that refused to accept them because they go against what they've decided to believe in. We wanted to engage in conversations with the students but in the middle of our time at U.P. rain started to pour, and so we just decided to concentrate on distributing the printed Gospel message which we believe God can still use to get a hold of their attention.
Please pray for the students that received tracts from us that they will be enlightened by the Gospel message.
