God wanted young people to hear the biblical Gospel message so He made sure that would happen despite the challenges we mentioned. The campers that backed out was replaced by another group just an hour after the 1st day started. The typhoon that hit the country was more of a relief to us than a spoiler as it provided a cool breeze and covered the heat of the sun during afternoon events. And the lack of funds? We just basically found a way to push through with the event with less funds.
Four large group session messages, two Bible study sessions and four devotions (morning and evening) all talked about the Gospel. There were contentions against the Gospel from several campers but we welcomed all of them as we know we can defend the message from what the Scriptures give. At the end of the camp, the LWA team received a lot of feedback of approval of the Gospel message we preached. We now leave the rest of the task of convicting the campers to the Holy Spirit.
We'd like to thank the few people who believed in what we were doing that gave their financial support. We are so blessed by your generous hearts. We know that money is so difficult to earn these days. When most Christians think first of their financial security or other activities they have that would require money, you chose to give more importance to the cause of winning souls for Christ, and so you gave. To the Star Youth Ministries members who volunteered for this camp, you deserve to be commended for your love to the ministry of evangelism. To the parents of LWA's Managing Director and their companions, Ate Nelly and Ronald, who cooked for the campers and the staff, "Thank you very much for your unmatched labor to make sure everyone was full and satisfied."
We all worked for the glory of the Lord and that's something we should be happy about!
