We're sure that you're curious about our biblical origins seminar, "In the beginning, GOD: Why I'm a young earth creationist" that took place last March 1 at SM Baliuag Cinema 1. We'll, we're very happy to inform you that it was a big success, by God's grace. Allow us to tell you why.
Since LWA's managing director, Dennis Mark Y. Aglosolos, came from the Answers in Genesis All Asian Conference at Malaysia some two years ago, God has been moving him to share his learning from the conference to people here in the Philippines via a seminar. Dennis was very afraid to do one as he feels that the seminar can get very technically scientific, and this is something that is not in his territory. But still, he soaked himself to studying more of AiG's resources.
Fast-forward to December 2012. The call of God for Dennis to hold the seminar got stronger. He responded with more time in prayer, asking God if He really wants the seminar organized soon... as if it was not yet clear that God wanted it done. In a way, Dennis wanted God to say "No, don't do it". But one evening, God really made Dennis feel that He wanted the seminar held soon, and so, plans were made for the event. When LWA started looking for a venue, Dennis wanted a place that could just accommodate about 250 people. But God was leading him to get something bigger, like a place that could hold 500. And so, they took what God wanted although Dennis doubted if they could pack the venue with people. LWA started inviting schools, churches and other organizations to the event, and from these groups, it was clear that we'll not get 500 in attendance. To make things worse, weeks before the event, two of the schools that committed to grace the event pulled out their reservation because of some conflict with their own schedules. Dennis said that the morning of the event, he was telling God that he'll be very happy already if there would be 350 people in the event.
So what happened on the actual event? God humbled Dennis. God brought 500+ people to the event. LWA even had to let people without tickets to the event because there were no more tickets to sell to them. High school and college students, teachers, pastors and church workers, school officials, Bible seminary students, and many more were in attendance. The feedback for the seminar were so encouraging. And the icing on the cake was the preaching of the biblical Gospel to hundreds of unsaved individuals in attendance.
The event is a testament that if we will just obey God in His leading, the efforts we exert to glorify Him will be blessed. Praise the Lord!
Living Waters Asia was at Batangas City last February 25, 2013. LWA joined other evangelism ministries at Greenhills Christian Fellowship, Batangas, for the Love Batangas Evangelism Summit. The event aimed to mobilize Christians from different churches in the area for a province-wide evangelism.
The convention gave different evangelism ministries the opportunity to present themselves to about 400 delegates coming from different churches in the province of Batangas. Ministries like YWAM, True Love waits, Action Philippines, League of Philippine Evangelists, Living Waters Asia, etc., took turns in the podium to tell attendees about how their ministries could help them in their evangelism efforts for their province. The presentations also helped delegates in deciding on which ministry workshop they will attend later that day.
We are very happy to inform you that LWA really made an impact on the Christians that signed up for our afternoon workshop. We saw in their eyes how blown away everyone were with the principle of biblical evangelism and why it is important that it be embraced in our evangelism efforts. Pastors in the workshop wanted LWA to come back to Batangas right away so that we can start training them on the Way of the Master evangelism principle. They can't seem to wait for GCF's evangelism seminar that will happen sometime in October or November where LWA will be one of the ministries that will conduct training for delegates.
Please pray for the province of Batangas and the churches around it. We saw their desire to win their province to Christ. We hope and pray that LWA could help them with this very Godly endeavor.
Last February 18, Living Waters Asia distributed canned tuna from Century Pacific Group RSPo Foundation, Inc., to the residents of Tanglaw ng Pag-asa (Provincial Juvenile Jail) at Malolos City. This is the third time LWA has given these much needed supply to the young inmates. They really appreciate gifts like these as a lot of them do not get visits from relatives that could bring them food other than what is supplied to them in the facility.
We thank Century Pacific Group RSPo Foundation, Inc. for their generosity and kindness in making the canned goods available for distribution
Most of you who have been following the ministry of Living Waters Asia for some time now are aware that our ministry office doubles as a student center. For about seven years now, thousands have heard the biblical Gospel in our center. Students frequent the center during breaks in their classes. Several go there to relax before they go home. And there are those who visit it for events like Bible study sessions and special film showing events.
Just like last February 13, a Christian public school teacher who cares about the souls of her students requested LWA to host a special film showing event where we also preached the Gospel. There were about 30 plus high school students that graced the event. Dennis Mark Aglosolos delivered the Gospel message to them. The students also decided to be members of center after the event so that they can regularly visit there.
Please pray that more of these events will be opened by God so that more students can hear the biblical Gospel.
February 7 was a very happy day for the children of Magumbali Elementary School because CFCM and Pack of Paradise put a smile on the faces of 24 children by giving shoe boxes full of goodies. CFCM has been conducting Children’s Values Formation Classes (CVFC) here since 2011. It has more or less about 300 pupils who come from very poor families. Magumbali is one of Candaba’s most remote barangays. Those who were not able to receive a shoebox were given chocolates, juice and cupcakes. This was also in partnership with All for Christ Christian Church headed by Pastor Raynel Gonzales.
We would like to thank all those who made this special day possible. We were not only able to reach out to the children spiritually. we were also able to reach out to them physically. The teachers and the principal of the school extend their heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors.
Acts 20:35 says, ”It is more blessed to give than to receive.” To God be the glory!
What do you do when you're given lots of food, more than you and your family can handle? Of course, share them. But what do you do when you're given food, more than you and your family can handle, and you're a Christian? If that's the case, use it to get people to listen to you preach the Gospel.
That's exactly what Living Waters Asia did last month. With free canned goods from the makers of Argentina Corned Beef and Century Tuna through the efforts of Mrs. Lumen Aglosolos, LWA utilized what it had to encourage people to hear the Gospel message. Feeding programs were done by LWA with partnerships with Children For Christ Ministries (CFCM) and Mustard Seed Christian Baptist Church (MSCBC). First, LWA shared the goods to the residents of the provincial juvenile jail of Bulacan via a Christmas party (see related story). Another Christmas party was held by LWA at its Student Center, Dec. 20, where the frequent visitors of the center were the ones that enjoyed the food LWA prepared.
Last Dec. 7, LWA partnered with its evangelism arm for children, CFCM, for a feeding program at Catacte Elem. School where more than a hundred pupils were present (read related story). Last Dec. 29, it was MSCBC that LWA partnered with and the result was a time with families of Liciada, Bustos, Bulacan.
In all of these events, the Gospel was delivered before food was given. LWA is looking forward for more events like these. We pray that we'll get more supplies of canned goods so we can continue to anchor events on feeding programs.
The year 2012 was indeed a fruitful year for CFCM.The Lord opened the doors of conducting parenting seminars in the whole of Bustos,Bulacan which has twelve public elementary schools and three national high schools, This is in partnership with the provincial government headed by Gov. Willy Alvarado and with Society Bible Baptist Church with Ptr. Darwin Antazo as senior pastor.. It is our hope that the seeds of salvation sown in their hearts will soon grow and yield conversions to Christianity.
The Lord also allowed us last December 13,2012 to hold a feeding program at Catacte Elementary School which has around 220 pupils. We thank our sponsors for their generosity and love.
The CFCM Christmas Program was held last December 7, 2012 with its theme: SERVING WITH POWER. This event paved the way for committee members and the volunteer teachers to have great fellowship and bonding. There were games, gifts and great food for everyone during the program. The highlight was the preaching of God’s Word by none other than our very own managing director, Bro Dennis Mark Aglosolos. We thank God for all those who helped us made this event possible.
As we face our 6th year of bringing precious children to Christ, we will continue to expect great things from God and attempt great things for God. We thank God for all those who keep on upholding us through their prayers, financial support or through their active involvement in voluntary teaching. We hope and pray that you'll continue your partnership with CFCM. We give all the glory to God!
If you want to give your support to CFCM through Living Waters Asia, contact us at email@example.com, and please specify that the support you will be giving is for CFCM by making your email subject: Giving to CFCM. We will be very happy to directly give them 100% of what you intend to send them so you can be their valuable partner in reaching Filipino children for Christ.
Christmas is really a great time to share the Gospel. There are so many things in Christmas that you can anchor your Gospel presentation. Just like in this witnessing clip, we used the gifts people receive as a conversation opener. Watch as the guys in this clip failed to recognize that Jesus is the greatest gift that has been given in history.
After watching the clip, we encourage you to think of other things in Christmas that you can use to open conversations with the unsaved that can lead to a discussion of how much we need Christ in our lives.
Challenge time after the Gospel presentation
For the seventh year in a row (December 10), Living Waters Asia brought holiday cheers to the residents of Tanglaw ng Pag-asa (Ray of Hope) provincial juvenile jail of Bulacan. LWA has been conducting weekly Bible study sessions here ever since we held our first Christmas program here some six years ago. We have seen God's power to change lives in the facility throughout the years we've been coming to this youth correctional center.
Our Christmas program has been a highlight for the inmates yearly. They even prepare special numbers for the event. This year, they again had fun with games we organized and the usual singing of Philippine Christian carols. The Gospel was preached by LWA Managing Director, Dennis Mark Aglosolos. He challenged the inmates to examine themselves if the Emmanuel, is already with them, because if not, they face an eternity of torment.
To end the Christmas program, the people of the facility were treated to a special meal and canned food that our sponsor generously gave them.
Please continue praying for the young people of Tanglaw ng Pag-asa.
