As is our practice every December for the last 9 years, Living Waters Asia again held a special Christmas program for the young residents of the facility last December 7. This event is the highlight of LWA's year-long weekly Bible study event here. Every Monday, for one whole year, the young people of the facility seriously studied God's Word. But the Christmas party is a time for not only being serious in studying the Bible, it was also a time to have some enjoyment!
LWA prepared games where the participants got a chance to win prizes. There was also a Christmas carols singing time. And of course, there was food for everyone! In return, the LWA team members were treated by our friends here with a medley of songs of which the rendering could leave anyone listening so impressed. That special number, for sure, added to the excitement of the event.
But of course, the highlight of the day was the preaching of the Gospel. Dennis Mark Aglosolos, the LWA Director, gave a quick drive through about why Christmas happened, from the Fall at the Garden of Eden all the way to the birth of Christ at Bethlehem. It was explained that the story of God's love for mankind did not end at the manger. Christmas day actually led to the cross and that if did not go there, all of the celebrations of this season will be meaningless. Dennis then continued by saying that "the only way for Christmas to have a personal significance to people is if we will come to Christ with humble repentance and faith."
We really hope that we can continue being a blessing to the residents of this facility. God's love is also offered to the inmates of this place that's why we intend to do our part in making them know that.
