The following day, the organizers were already at the venue of the conference for final preparations way before sunrise. People started coming in early for the registration. And we were all surprised with the turn-out of attendees. Additional tables and chairs had to be brought in to accommodate people that just walked-in for the conference. The activities started with a short worship time that was followed by an opening prayer and welcome remarks from the director of Living Waters Asia. From there, it was all EZ and Mark delivering a total of six (6) lectures about evangelism. They also did a Q and A towards the end of the event. Everyone had only words of joy and appreciation for the things our speakers had shared during the conference.
The following day, Sunday, EZ and Mark preached at different churches. EZ was at the Living Waters Asia church in Baliuag, Bulacan. He did an exposition of 2 Peter chapter 1 which encouraged Christians to live in godliness as they go about the ministry of reconciliation. Mark spoke at Rock of Refuge church in New Manila and he delivered a message that aimed to encourage Christians in a young church to be engaged in discipleship.
When we brought our speakers to the airport later that day, there was a feeling of wanting them to stay longer. But we understood that God has things for them to do in the US. We bade them "goodbye" but with the assurance in our hearts that we will be with them again, especially in Heaven when our work here on earth is over. We also have so much gratitude for our Lord for blessing the conference which we painstakingly prepared for in the last two years.
It is our prayer that everyone that heard EZ and Mark during the conference will continue to surrender their lives to the work of reconciliation that God, Himself, commissioned everyone of His children to do. It will not be an easy task. But that should not deter us from taking risks for the Gospel's sake. We should always have the attitude, according to Mark Spence, that declares, "If I fail, I will fail falling forward!"
