Last May 17, Living Waters Asia continued their campus evangelism.  A week before, they went around the campuses of University of Santo Tomas and the University of the Philippines.  Wanting to do more of this campus evangelism, LWA decided to organize another trip to Manila. This time, they went to the rally center of the country, Mendiola (this is where rallies against the government usually happens).  The street leads directly to the presidential palace of the Philippines, The Malacañang Palace, and has three colleges and a university, San Beda College, La Consolacion College, College of the Holy Spirit and Centro Escolar University (CEU). 

For everyone's information, CEU is where LWA's Managing Director, Dennis Mark Aglosolos, graduated from college and later taught behavioral sciences subjects for three semesters, and so naturally, he has a heart to bring the Gospel there.  Two other members of the LWA team are either a graduate of this university or currently studying in one of it's branches. So, we guess you kinda see the connection.  Well, connection or nothing, LWA is committed to reaching for Christ anyone that God gives us to share the Gospel to.

And so, very early on May 17, when the sun was still hiding, the team made their way to Mendiola.  Armed with thousands of Gospel tracts, members of the team divided themselves into four groups so that they'll have a presence on each of the campuses.  We made sure that every student coming in and out of the campuses got a copy of the Gospel.  There were also parents who were accompanying their freshmen children as they enroll for the next school year which will open in about two and a half weeks.  We also had some opportunities to talk to people about the only message that can bring them forgiveness of sins and eternal life in Heaven.  We completed our evangelism time at Mendiola right before a rally started at the gate of the street.  The team then celebrated the day over lunch.  Please pray for the people who received Gospel tracts during our time at this very his historical area.

Just because it's summer in the Philippines, that does not mean you can't do some campus evangelism.  April and May are still busy months in Philippine universities and colleges as students who either want to be advanced in their academics or are catching up on back subjects enroll in summer classes.  Add to that students who are already enrolling for the next school year and you have a great fishing opportunity. 

This was the reason why LWA last May 10 went to two of the most famous universities in the country... University of Santo Tomas (oldest in the Philippines) and the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.  Armed with "Cling to Jesus" tracts with Living Waters' Trish Ramos' poem (www.fishwithtrish.com), the LWA team roamed around the grounds of UST and UP.  We had a great time doing this in the two universities as people were very pleasant that day.  We had only a few people turn down our Gospel tracts.  Thousands got a copy of the Gospel that day and we only have the Lord to thank for this.

Last March 15, a team from LWA conducted an overnight recollection event for the high school graduating class of Notre Christi Academy of the Philippines (NCAP).  LWA does this event yearly for NCAP to make sure that their graduating class will have a clear understanding of the Gospel before they move on to pursue a college degree.  LWA also conducts NCAP's yearly graduating class retreat which happens somewhere in September.

There were food, games and prizes during the 12-hour event which we're sure everyone in attendance enjoyed.  A time was also provided for the students to give their thoughts about their upcoming graduation and say their "thanks" and "goodbyes" to their dear classmates.  Around 12 midnight, the class converged to listen to Dennis Mark Aglosolos' presentation of the Gospel.  Dennis emphasized the need to give their eternal destiny some serious thought as they have only this lifetime to make a decision in favor of it, and the thing is, no one knows when their life will end.  After the Gospel presentation, one student approached Dennis and said "Thanks" for making him realize that he is not as good as he thinks he is in God's eyes.

Please pray for these young people.  Only time can tell if they will respond to the Gospel favorably.  But we trust that the Holy Spirit will do His work on them.
